We need comments, people! In order to make the blog more fun, I would encourage every reader to start commenting on the posts we write. Not only do we want your feedback, but we also hope that this will be a great place for Greenwood discussion. That's what these things are intended for, afterall...

We have also been warned against allowing anonymous comments due to the fact that a one-time Greenwood message board was shut down due to the number of anonymous, libelous posts. As a result, we will only allow comments from registered users for now.

So, from now on when you comment, you will be asked for your Blogger username and password. If you don't have one already, please register (it literally takes 15 seconds) so you can join in the discussion. This precaution will keep anonymous comments from ruining the fun for everyone else and will keep the forum lively and fun!

I'm not from the Delta but I figured I'd post to commend you on the great new blog. I hope the blog will mention Pillow Academy football stars of yesteryear such as Josh Whelan, Randall Roberson, Will Larkin Matthews, and Brent Hardin, as well as the star Mustang cheerleaders.

Obama or McCain? You Decide.

Barack Obama is the only candidate that has been successful at reaching across party lines in the presidential election. I as well have not had much to say on The Dirt. It is unfortunate that I no longer consider myself in tune with life in the Delta and can no longer comment as such. My free time (what little of it I have) has also been dedicated to following both the presidential election and American Idol like a hawk. That having been said, I am not afraid to admit that my name is on Amy's list of previously sane people who are seriously considering Obama in November. Now, my consideration depends on a lot of future events to fall into place. First and foremost, Obama will have to beat Hillary for the Democratic nomination. If that were to happen, my pick between Obama and McCain would also depend on who each picks for their veep candidate. This two-minute campaign ad clearly states Barack Obama's plan to reenergize our economy. Thank God someone is addressing this issue. In an opinion editorial previously published this week, I predicted that the roller coaster ride the economy has been on this week would cause Republican presidential candidate John McCain to fall in the polls. "My prediction: By the end of the week, McCain's stance on the economy will cause his Palin bump in the polls to all but disappear."
