As the publishers of TheDeltaDirt.com, we welcome you to Greenwood’s new hip and happening journalistic endeavor, home of “All the Dirt That’s Fit to Blog in Greenwood, Mississippi.” Here you will get the "deets" on various and sundry town-related topics.
We pledge to tirelessly investigate and report on all the funky findings that make Greenwood and the Greater Delta Region such a great place to be. Party buses, blues festivals, tennis teams, wedding celebrations, blue vodka, and the best bands around are but a few of the topics we will cover.
We will offer weekly features like Sunday’s “Weekend Roundup,” an exposé on the previous two days’ shenanigans. Monday will expose the "Dirty Deltan of the Week," reserved for the biggest jackass at the bar...better hope your mug shot doesn't show up here!
Tuesday’s lineup will include “Delta Roadtrip,” an insider’s look at the intriguing elements that make up our culturally-diversified and mysterious Mississippi Delta. Check out your “Hump-Day Horoscope” on Wednesday, a prediction of what’s in store for your future.
On Thursday, you will get to know your friendly “Fellow Flatlander,” a slightly risqué spin-off of The Commonwealth’s widely-popular “Just Ask Your Neighbor” series. Friday will showcase “What’s Good in the ‘Wood,” a preview of the upcoming weekend’s happenin' hot spots, late night locales and designated drivers. Email us (dirt@thedeltadirt.com) by close-of-business on Thursday to have your events added to the list.
And on the seventh day, they rested. No regular posts on Saturday. Sorry.
This is a place for the good folk of Greenwood to contribute their proverbial two cents and stay abreast of what's going on in the Cotton Capital. Feel free to leave your thoughts behind by clicking on the ‘comments’ link below each post.
From the streets to the screen, the lowdown about town can be found at TheDeltaDirt.com. So welcome aboard. And “bring it,” my beloved blogging bitches!
Your faithful and fearless editors,
Thomas and R.D.
