Miss Mississippi to Perform at Alluvian Tonight























Kristian Dambrino, Miss Mississippi 2005, will be performing for the happy hour crowd at The Alluvian tonight from 5 to 8 p.m.

Singer-songwriter Kristian Dambrino combines a rich, soulful voice with authentic Mississippi Delta roots to produce insightful, timeless songs. She represents a fresh face in an industry which seems to look more and more the same.

Kristian has an old soul steeped in the musical traditions of the 40's, 70's, and 90's. Her musical influences are Emmylou Harris, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Alison Krauss, Amy Grant, Gillian Welch, Rhonda Vincent, James Taylor, Patty Griffin, Dan Fogelberg, and Rodney Crowell. Her life has been surrounded by music; since the age of 2, Kristian has been performing music and surprising crowds with a voice that is timeless.

In addition to assuming the role of Miss Mississippi 2005, she has opened concerts for Trick Pony, Joe Diffie, and has recorded with legendary Nashville engineer Norbert Putnam (Dan Fogelberg, Jimmy Buffett, Elvis Presley, Linda Rindstadt, Joan Baez). Kristian has written and recorded over 50 songs, 13 of which are featured on her debut CD, Red Mind.

This CD has been nominated for the Mississippi Council for Arts and Letters Music Award for 2005. Kristian has performed at the Roy Acuff Theatre, Bluebird Cafe and Douglas Corner in Nashville. She has worked at the Smith Family Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and has performed at the Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.

Kristian is a student of piano, guitar and mandolin. She is an art major at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. She is the oldest of three children born to her science teacher mother and lawyer father. She grew up on the family farm in Dubard, Mississippi.
