What's Good in the 'Wood: 6/22-6/24

Thursday night: Pianist Moe Hubbard at The Alluvian; Dueling Duo Andy and Stephen at The Flatland Grill; Clarksdale native Lightnin' Malcolm at The Blue Parrot.

Friday night: Everyone's favorite youth minister and singer/songwriter Randy Weeks at The Blue Parrot; Pianist Jaime Isonhood at Webster's.

Saturday night: Capital City legend Dustin Messina at The Blue Parrot

Pick of the Weekend: You all know Randy Weeks as Greenwood's own pony-tailed Jesus impersonator or the guy who runs in way-too-short pink nylon shorts, but did you know he could sing? Yes, it's true. The Minister to Youth of First Presbyterisn Church has pipes like you wouldn't believe. I once heard him sing The Lord's Prayer solo in an empty Atlanta cathedral and soon realized he wasn't playing around. Well, this Friday at The Blue Parrot, Randy will be bringing his mad songwriting skills to the masses with classics such as God Named Ray, among others. So be sure to make your reservations early and enjoy dinner while listening to the tunes of Randy Weeks as he picks them out on his Ovation guitar.
