Official River to the Rails 2007 Website

With temperatures in the upper 60s and low to mid 70s and not a raincloud in sight, River to the Rails 2007 is sure to draw a crowd this year.

Set to take place on Howard Street in historic downtown Greenwood on Friday night and all day Saturday thru Saturday night, the 3rd annual River to the Rails Street Festival will have something to offer everyone!

For those looking for music entertainment, look no further than the River to the Rails Main Stage on Howard Street on Friday and Saturday night starting at 5:00 p.m.

*Friday night will feature former Kudzu Kings frontman Tate Moore and the Cosmic Door, Delta gospel sensation The West Singers, and the legendary Curb Service Band featuring the Curvettes.

*Saturday night will showcase bluesman Terry "Harmonica" Bean, Oxford/Greenwood jam band Gunboat, and Memphis rockabilly trio The Dempseys.

Each night, Budweiser products will be on sale in 16 oz. aluminum bottles, as will a variety of specialty food products. Also, the official River to the Rails t-shirts, limited edition art prints and beverage huggies will be available for purchase near the Main Stage. Supplies are limited, so don't miss out!

If you are a River to the Rails 2007 Sponsor, make sure to join us at the VIP tent between Planter's Bank and Greenwood Tae-Kwon-Do. Food and beverages are being catered by Webster's and Riverfront Liquors. Sorry, only those with Sponsor badges will be admitted.

All day Saturday, come experience such family friendly events as the Pet Parade and the Antique Car Show. The Junior Auxiliary Kids Zone will feature a petting zoo, various contests and inflatable activities, as well as face painting and balloon animals. Also, community acts will be performing throughout the day on the Community Stage.

Lining the street will be local artisans, who will be selling their homemade wares including such items as pottery, black and white photography, original artwork, handmade jewelry, and other unique items. Also, local food vendors will be set up selling Delta delicacies such as shrimp, crawfish, hamburgers and hotdogs, just to name a few.

The Viking Cooking School, The Alluvian Hotel and Mockingbird Bakery are co-hosting the Blues Bash at the Viking Cooking School. Taste the Viking Cooking School with mini chef demos, check out Mockingbird for a tasty pastry, and do all of this while sipping Mimosas or Bloody Marys. All proceeds will benefit Main Street Greenwood.

So come on out and join the party in historic downtown Greenwood! And bring your friends and family out to experience Greenwood's greatest weekend event -- River to the Rails 2007! For more information, check out the official River to the Rails Website here.
