Commonwealth Website Undergoes Redesign

The Greenwood Commonwealth website was recently updated with a new design. It showcases a graphically improved masthead that features an integrated photo of Greenwood's historic Keesler Bridge.

While it appears that the content will remain largely the same, the Commonwealth has indicated a few new features, including:

  • An e-edition. The entire paper will be available daily online in the same format as the print edition. The cost is $12 for three months.

  • The capability to conduct business with us online, including placing classified ads and ordering a print subscription.

  • Easy-to-use forms for submitting letters to the editor, wedding and engagement announcements and birth announcements.
Also, the new site does not redirect to the old zwire.com. Instead, it fully utilizes the gwcommonwealth.com domain including its additional pages. Archives to stories dating back to June 2000 will also be available.

Editorial: As Predicted, McCain Falls in the Polls

This two-minute campaign ad clearly states Barack Obama's plan to reenergize our economy. Thank God someone is addressing this issue. In an opinion editorial previously published this week, I predicted that the roller coaster ride the economy has been on this week would cause Republican presidential candidate John McCain to fall in the polls. "My prediction: By the end of the week, McCain's stance on the economy will cause his Palin bump in the polls to all but disappear."
