After many years of downtown development and historic revitilization, Greenwood has come full circle as the place to live, work, and play! This Thursday, Main Street Greenwood will offer an opportunity to visit just a few of the loft apartments that are located in our beloved downtown area. Following is a summary of what Greenwood has to offer in terms of downtown loft-style living.

There are approximately 24 apartments in downtown Greenwood, including six in the Fountain building that nearing completion. Currently, three more are under construction in the Klein & Blumenthall Building on Main Street. Of the 24, at least 14 are currently occupied; two are being used as offices. The Alluvian Lofts offer extended stay accommodations and require a minimum two-week stay and vary in occupancy.

Downtown living is becoming more popular nationwide. Mixed use space is a great trend across the country because of the convenience of walking to work, grocery, dining, and shopping opportunities. Greenwood has all of these amenities in its downtown area, and many of them are high end markets. Each of the five banks in Greenwood have a presence downtown, many service businesses (law offices, real estate businesses, etc.) are located downtown.

In addition, many retail shopping opportunities such as the Viking Cooking School, The Alluvian Spa, various gift shops, clothing and shoe stores, furniture and other specialty shops, pharmacies and frame shops, are all present in Greenwood's historic downtown area. You can also find live entertainment and fine dining as well as original art for sale in downtown Greenwood.

Downtown is the center of commerce in Greenwood and it is the center of social activity as well. Downtown Greenwood provides a very chic and modern lifestyle for those who choose to live here. Come to Upstairs Downtown on Thursday and "Discover Downtown" in all its glory!
