Delta Dirt Christmas Awards

Picture One: After driving all about Greenwood, I really have to give the Christmas Spirit Award to 504 Dewey St. and its next-door neighbors. This would have been a great time to have a panoramic camera. By far, they put out the most effort -- and probably wattage -- in town. I'm glad I don't have their light bill. Go, Dewey Street!

Picture Two: The "E" for Effort Award goes to Amy'S Favorite Christmas House at the corner of Howard and W. Henry streets. This little holiday-house-that-could packs an amazing amount of seasonal cheer via a fairly wide variety of items into a small front porch. I love driving past this house.

Pictures Three, Four & Five: This was The Year of the Inflatable Yard Decoration, and nobody cashed in on it better than the residents of Claiborne Avenue and Baird. We counted some 12 or so blown-up, lit-up plastic delights, such as moving carousels, snow globes, snowmen and santas at this one dwelling. Amazing, really.
