River to the Rails MySpace Page Updated for 2008

The West Singers sang their gospel-inspired tunes at last year's River to the Rails.
Main Street Greenwood's River to the Rails Festival has updated their MySpace page with sample songs from this year's featured bands. The 4th Annual event will be held April 11-12, 2008 on historic Howard Street in downtown Greenwood.
Blues headliner Bobby Rush will put the festival in high gear Friday night in historic downtown Greenwood by the Yazoo River -- and country-rock band Crossin Dixon will close it down on Saturday.
Bobby Rush plays all over the world and is perhaps the most successful and relevant bluesman from Mississippi. In fact, "Living Blues Magazine" has honored Bobby Rush with the "Best Live Performer of the Year" Award several times.
Crossin Dixon is a popular group of musicians from the Greenwood area. Their style is Nashville country-rock and they have had music videos played on CMT.
Newcomers Thompson Ward will play Friday evening before Bobby Rush. Water Valley native Steve Thompson, Brian Ward and band members will play from their CD "Porch Funk," which Thompson says describes their style of music.
Roadhouse, a classic rock cover band, is always a crowd favorite. Twin teenage guitarists originally from Jackson often close out a set with an rousing rendition of Lynard Skynard's "Free Bird." They will also play Friday evening.
Classic country-rock group Under the Gunn, which includes locals such as Leflore County Deputy Sheriff Ken Spencer, will play Saturday evening.
River to the Rails 2008 promises to be an even bigger success than last year. For more information, visit the River to the Rails Official Website here or their Official MySpace Page here.
