Fox News to Visit the Velvet Ditch

Holly Springs, Mississippi native Shepard Smith is always fair and balanced.

The Fox News Network is coming to Oxford on Monday and Tuesday, March 10th and 11th, to broadcast its Studio B live at 2 p.m. and The Fox Report at 6 p.m. each day. Anchor Shep Smith, who is from Holly Springs and lacks only a few hours in getting a UM broadcast journalism degree, is covering the Mississippi primary and has asked for a crowd to appear on the broadcasts with him.

If you are in Oxford, or are able to go, and want to participate in this exciting event, be on the Square in front of City Hall 30 minutes prior to the broadcasts. Even if you cannot be there, be sure to tune-in and watch Shepard Smith reporting live from Oxford on Monday and Tuesday.

The Fox Report with Shepard Smith remains the top-rated newscast in cable news and is ranked third in the top programs in cable news. Smith is currently the longest-running news anchor for an evening broadcast of this format and style on both cable and the big three network news. Smith was voted the second most trusted news anchor by the readers of TV Guide."

He has also been known to say "hotty toddy" and "go Rebs" on air.

That's what we affectionately call Oxford. It's so cool that you stay there after you graduate (or don't), and work in a cool restaurant, and then you wake up one day and realize that you're 30 and you still wait tables in a cool restaurant ... The Velvet Ditch.
