River to the Rails 2008 Recap
This will be my memory of River to the Rails 2008: A shot of the gathering crowd from atop the main stage before Crossin Dixon performed Saturday night, April 12. There were people as far as I could see down Howard Street. The Greenwood Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates 5,000 attended the weekend event -- up 2,000 from last year.
Crossin Dixon in action. Although not a country music fan, I much enjoyed them, although I really could have done without the Kid Rock cover.
The Bobby Rush crowd Friday night was also fantastic, and all very much amused by the infamous BR dancers. "Baby Got Back" did not begin to describe these women, whose amazing backsides seemed to possess special muscles and operate as separate entities, possibly with their own zipcodes.
