Greenwood's First Biking Event is Upon Us!

No, folks, this is not for Harley Davidson enthusiasts. This is biking for the men (and women) who like to wear tiny spandex shorts and hit the road for miles of exercise. It's Greenwood's first-ever Bikes, Blues & Bayous, and 160 riders have registered! Not bad for a first year!
Participants will take off at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning from downtown's Front Street, led by the Money Road Cycling Club pictured above, for either a 62- or 22-mile loop around the Delta's finest back roads. Kind of like the locals -- only they won't be drinking while driving, or stopping periodically to climb grain bins and urinate. Shout out to McLeod Meek for the sleeveless shirt.
The Pre-Ride Party kicks off tonight at 6 p.m. at the Hampton Inn. Registration pick up and a pasta and salad dinner catered by Viking Hospitality Group. $5 for non-riders.
