A Note to Tourists

Can anyone tell me where there are camp grounds in or around Greenwood, Miss.? I'd like to know for future reference.

The Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express hosted the Pre-Ride Party for Bikes, Blues & Bayous last night. There were a couple of last-minute riders who showed up and wanted to know if they could pitch their tents somewhere around the hotel. We decided the back lot behind the properties would be OK if they wanted to go there.

Somehow there was a miscommunication, though, because I later noticed that our camping tourist friends had pitched two tents on the 5-foot strip of grass separating the parking lots of the hotel complex.

Someone politely told them to move. No, really, guys - you have to buy a room.

Editorial: As Predicted, McCain Falls in the Polls

This two-minute campaign ad clearly states Barack Obama's plan to reenergize our economy. Thank God someone is addressing this issue. In an opinion editorial previously published this week, I predicted that the roller coaster ride the economy has been on this week would cause Republican presidential candidate John McCain to fall in the polls. "My prediction: By the end of the week, McCain's stance on the economy will cause his Palin bump in the polls to all but disappear."
